We are thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity to join our Adult Early Support Team (AEST) as a Senior Social Worker. This multidisciplinary team operates within Manchester Adult Care Services.
Key details: Working Hours 35 Hours per Week; Contract Type Permanent, Full Time; Interview Method Face to Face; Closing date 23 September 2025 (closing time 11.59pm).
Role Requirements
This role is subject to: references (to cover 3 years minimum), qualification (Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England), medical clearance (pre-placement health assessment), casual car documentation as required, and a DBS check (Enhanced Disclosure) in line with policy.
About the Team and Role Context
We are excited to join Manchester Adult Care Services in providing effective, strengths-based support from the first point of contact. The aim is to prevent, reduce, or delay escalation of needs and promote the independence of Manchester residents, contributing to the city\'s prevention agenda.
Key Responsibilities
* Work with adults to enhance independence by addressing needs through alternative approaches and deliver timely short-term interventions to prevent or delay the need for long-term care and support.
* Proactively identify and address risks to prevent escalation and ensure individual safety.
* Demonstrate strong knowledge of support services and assist colleagues and citizens in accessing appropriate support.
* Collaborate with partner agencies including Greater Manchester Police, the VCFSE sector, primary and secondary healthcare providers, and children\'s services.
* Embed and model the Our Manchester Behaviours in all aspects of work.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Social Work Qualification and registration with Social Work England.
* DBS clearance (Enhanced) and related checks as required by policy.
* Medical clearance/pre-placement health assessment where applicable.
* Ability to provide own car and documentation if Casual Car User; mileage allowance applicable where relevant.
