Hide Away Campervans are looking for an experienced, multi-skilled technician to join the team and help drive the quality of our conversions even further. This role is suited to someone who can bring strong hands-on experience into the business and confidently carry out all aspects of a campervan conversion from start to finish.
We are looking for a true multi-trade individual with a high standard of workmanship, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to take ownership of their work. You will be expected to work across electrical, cabinetry, mechanical and finishing stages of a build.
You must be confident working from a tablet, reading and understanding job specifications, and following build plans accurately.
We run a hardworking, organised, and clean workshop based in rural Denmead. We are a growing, well-established business known for producing high quality bespoke conversions, and we take pride in maintaining high standards across every build.
Job description
We're looking for a new member of the team who can challenge our idea of perfection, and take our standards of quality to the next level. It's imperative that applicants have a keen eye for detail, impeccable standards of workmanship and importantly a genuine interest in the industry. 'A day in the life of' will include; carpentry/cabinetry and wiring, general fitting, carpet lining, plumbing and array of hands-on tasks within the workshop.

Working Hours
Mon to Thursday
Friday 0800 – 1230, with weekends off.
Main Duties
* Building our bespoke cabinets from our CNC cut parts and fitting into our conversions.
* Glass windows & pop-top roof fitting.
* Installing and building wiring looms from our plans.
* Fitting LED lighting, leisure batteries and sockets both 12v & 240v. Working with complex Victron power systems.
* Stripping down the original vehicle's interior, trim, seat belts, dashboard, seats, door panels etc.
* Mechanical work such as removing diesel tanks, wheels, suspension changing bumpers and other external items.
* Installing passenger seats and bed systems.
* Basic water and waste tank installations.
* Carpet lining vans and panels, along with laying vinyl floor.
* Sound proofing & insulating vans.
* General workshop duties, sweeping and mopping the floor, cleaning the staff & public areas and mainly keeping the workshop organised & clean.
* Washing and cleaning vans.
* Supervised gas installations, working with Sam who is an LPG fitter.
What you must have?
* A strong multi-trade background with practical experience across several skill areas.
* Experience working with power tools such as routers, drills, angle grinder, reciprocating saw and air tools. Along with knowing you ½ from your ¼ socket.
* A good work ethic, willing to work hard on a task and a willingness to improve your own skills.
* Problem solver, is absolutely key in this role.
* Able to communicate with others honestly.
* Excellent eye for detail, our conversions are of a high standard and time is taken to ensure every corner is finished off with excellence.
* A keen campervan enthusiast, who owns or has owned a campervan/caravan and or understands the basics.
* Be able to read and write confidently. Basic maths and understand metric measurements.
* Able to safely lift heavy weights and work-in awkward positions.
* Work and keep a tidy environment, this is very important.

Salary: £15.00–£17.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Overtime: Paid at 1.5x hourly rate
Holiday: Statutory holiday entitlement including bank holidays and time off during the Christmas closure.
