UK > Scotland > Aberdeen We invite applications for a Fleet Engineering Specialist - HUMS position, based at our Dunlin Road premises (Aberdeen). The overall purpose of the Fleet Engineering Specialist - HUMS is managing the application of Global HUMS to meet Company safety and airworthiness goals and obligations. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible to the Deputy Fleet Engineering Manager for: Managing the application of HUMS to meet Company safety and airworthiness goals and obligations in a cost-effective manner. Providing, in conjunction with related departments, necessary HUMS documentation and equipment required for approved aircraft maintenance, installations and workshop procedures. Providing support and technical advice for all Company and specific third-party HUMS operations, including: Hardware and software support. Diagnostic advice. The coordination and implementation of data transfers. The monitoring of HUMS downloads, including trends and repetitive defects. Assisting with helicopter system installation and system training. Production of ad-hoc HUMS reports. Providing a point of contact for the Airworthiness Authority and the submission of required reports to them on HUMS related matters. Providing a point of contact and liaison with Air Accident Investigators on HUMS/FDR matters as required. Liaison with OEMs (aircraft and component) on HUMS matters, particularly information of a Flight Safety critical nature where this must be shared with the OEM. Ensuring OEM's have the correct point of contact details for Bristow HUMS department. Liaison with the Supply Chain, as necessary, for technical matters such as reliability and obsolescence. Advising management, in conjunction with appropriate departments, on HUMS equipment approval, upgrades and purchases. Assisting management in representing the Company on HUMS matters relating to steering groups and at client meetings. The management of HUMS ground station policy, including security, disk maintenance, data protection and system faults. Carry out a review of all HUMS systems data along with a periodic review of thresholds and their suitability. Ensuring the preparation of monthly/quarterly reports on HUMS related data. Daily Review and accurate recording of QAF 500/500A IAW para 3.15 PERSON SPECIFICATION: (minimum education requirements, key skills and experience) Qualifications: Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer with 5 years' experience. Or a BINDT CAT IV Vibration Analysis (VCAT-IV) qualification or equivalent, and a desire to work in aviation. Experience: Experience of first analysis and second line daily review of HUMS data. Or a solid understanding of vibration analysis and condition monitoring. OEM specific HUMS Training on any of these types is advantageous - H135, AW139, AW189 & S92A. Skills: Must be Self-Motivated/Self Starter. Excellent computer skills - Microsoft Office apps, Databases. Strong Communication Skills with the ability to articulate, summarize, and present information clearly to audiences with different backgrounds and at different levels of the organization and external stakeholders. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Understand the need for and acts with integrity in their liaisons with all stakeholders. Highly collaborative, works with all stakeholders to deliver results and keep others informed. Must be approachable to both internal and external staff members. Possess the ability to manage priorities and focus on the key issues. Possess the ability to negotiate and influence with both internal and external customers to ensure adoption of standard processes. Possess the ability to teach other staff members.
