Base pay range
We are working with a growing manufacturing business in Downham Market to recruit an experienced CNC Programmer. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with woodworking or metal machining experience to join a forward-thinking team and make a real impact on production efficiency and product quality.
Role
As a CNC Programmer, you’ll develop, optimise, and maintain CNC programs for machining door panels and components, translating designs into precise, high-quality products. You’ll work closely with production and engineering teams, ensuring efficiency and accuracy at every stage.
Key Responsibilities
* Program CNC machines using CAD/CAM software (e.g., X-Door, CalWin) for 3–5 axis routing operations.
* Interpret technical drawings to create accurate machining programs for door panels, rails, stiles, grooves, and decorative inserts.
* Prepare machines, load tooling, perform first-off testing, and validate program accuracy.
* Troubleshoot programs and support operators to maximise efficiency and maintain quality standards.
* Maintain documentation including setup sheets, tooling lists, and program libraries.
* Analyse production data to suggest process improvements and implement lean practices.
Requirements
* 3+ years of experience as a CNC Programmer, ideally in woodworking or door/panel components.
* Strong knowledge of 3–5 axis CNC operations, tooling selection, and G‑code/CAM generation.
* Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (X-Door, CalWin, or similar).
* Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and organisational skills.
* Effective communicator with the ability to work collaboratively with operators, engineers, and supervisors.
