Do you have a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Tradewind Recruitment is looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for primary-aged pupils across a variety of schools in Sheffield.
The Role:
As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with individual pupils who have a range of additional needs, including:
* Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
* Challenging Behaviour
* Non-verbal communication difficulties
You'll play a key role in creating an inclusive and nurturing learning environment, collaborating with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to provide personalised support tailored to each child's needs.
Responsibilities:
* Deliver tailored 1:1 support based on individual learning and behavioural requirements
* Assist with classroom activities and support differentiated learning
* Implement alternative communication tools (e.g., PECS, visual timetables)
* Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
* Support social, emotional, and behavioural development
* Calmly and effectively manage challenging behaviour
What We're Looking For:
* Experience working with children with SEN, particularly autism and behavioural challenges
* A patient, empathetic, and resilient attitude
* A flexible, proactive approach to support
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent) - preferred but not essential
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
