Job Description
Mechanical Design Engineer with a keen interest in hydraulics who is driven and self-motivated is urgently required to join a skilled engineering team within a business at the forefront of innovative Marine Engineering. You will work on current and future projects, taking ownership of marine mechanical solutions with a focus on hydraulics from concept through to commissioning.

Role Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with a small, dynamic team to develop systems for the marine industry sectors including commercial, leisure, and shipping.
* Design and specify hydraulic systems, producing schematics, 3D models, and manufacturing drawings of manifolds and components.
* Create documentation and perform calculations to support designs.
* Model hydraulic systems using Simcenter AMEsim for validation.
* Develop and test hydraulic systems.
* Manage supplier selection and relationships.
* Provide commissioning and technical support for vessels.
* Contribute to other mechanical design activities as part of the team.
Person Specification:
* Higher education in Fluid Power, Mechanical, Electrical, Control Systems, or related fields.
* NFPC (or equivalent) Hydraulics Training (training can be provided for suitable candidates).
* Strong understanding of industrial and mobile hydraulic systems and components.
* Experience with CAD design and creation of hydraulic schematics.
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
* Strong communication skills to explain complex technical concepts.
* Willingness to travel.
* Experience with Simcenter AMEsim software is advantageous.
