Strategic Development Manager Location:Greater Shankill Area of Belfast Salary: £35,235 per annum Contract: 31st March 2026 extension subject to funding confirmation Hours: 37 hours per week Annual Leave: 25 days per annum plus 12 statutory days pro rata Responsible to: CEO of Greater Shankill Partnership Please note: After submitting your application via the Apply button, you will receive an application pack by email which must be completed and returned to progress your application. JOB SUMMARY / MAIN PURPOSE To provide strategic management and coordination within the Greater Shankill Neighbourhood Renewal team. To assist the Neighbourhood Renewal Partnership in analysing and prioritising the needs of the areas and reflecting these in their Action Plans. Project Management: to research, design, coordinate, develop and, where relevant, manage projects related to urban regeneration. Policy & Evidence:being proactive in monitoring policy, academic and professional developments. Capacity Building:oversee the action and development of programmes which will empower citizens and groups to engage in planning and shaping of their area and to develop partnerships with organisations contributing to regeneration outcomes. KEY TASKS To provide line management for project staff within the Neighbourhood Renewal Team. To provide professional support to the Neighbourhood Renewal Task Groups ensuring that meetings operate effectively. To assist the Partnership to put in place appropriate procedures to govern the conduct of their business in line with Department for Communities (DfC) Code of Practice, including OBA reporting for the area. To interpret and analyse relevant data and research that may be relevant to the implementation of Neighbourhood Renewal Action Plans. To ensure the Neighbourhood Renewal Action Plan is adhered to in the delivery of actions and programmes. To ensure the Partnership is fully briefed on the policy context relating to Urban Regeneration. To ensure ongoing monitoring of progress against the Neighbourhood Renewal Action Plan and continually review and update the documents. To liaise and connect with other statutory and community organisations who are potential stakeholders in the delivery of the Neighbourhood Renewal Action Plan and ensure strategic alignment with external plans. To represent the Neighbourhood Renewal Partnership on relevant Statutory, Public Sector, Government Bodies or strategic oversight groups as required. To positively promote Neighbourhood Renewal through a range of methods including website material, social media, press releases, project launches etc. To deliver presentations at local forums, meetings and events on request. To undertake other reasonable duties related to Neighbourhood Renewal as agreed. Essential Criteria A third level qualification in a relevant field and 2 years employed experience in a similar role OR A minimum of 3 years employed experience in a similar role (similar sole defined as working in community, voluntary, charity or in a role with a community development approach) At least 2 years experience gained in the last 5 years in each of the following: Project management Community Development Working in partnership and building relationships across various organisations and sectors to deliver results Knowledge of Urban Regeneration issues. An awareness of and commitment to the aims, objectives and values of Greater Shankill Partnership and the Neighbourhood Renewal Partnerships. Experience of managing staff. Ability to liaise and communicate effectively with a wide range of key stakeholders at different levels. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent administration and organisational skills. Proficient IT skills e.g. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher etc. Familiar use of social media platforms e.g. Facebook, Twitter. A proven ability to write plans and reports. The ability to think strategically. An ability to identify potential areas for improvement related to project delivery. Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Desirable Criteria Experience of managing community funding programmes. A management qualification.
