Job Purpose
The PA CAP (Competent Assessed Person) engineer is responsible for conducting thorough examinations of powered access platforms. The PA CAP Engineer is responsible for inspecting machinery and equipment and ensuring it is safe for use by repairing and maintaining, undertaking servicing and maintenance often using specialist equipment. The PA CAP Engineer is responsible for carrying out and signing off the 6 monthly inspection of PA equipment
Key skills & Duties
* Carry out pre-delivery inspections (PDIs), servicing, LOLER inspections, repairs, and maintain the fleet of rental equipment.
* Validating the machines after inspection
* Work closely with the yard staff to ensure that all machines are in excellent operating condition.
* Adhere to Health & Safety requirements.
* Visit customer sites attending breakdowns to resolve faults where required
* Inspecting machines for defects
* Servicing and maintenance
* Undertaking routine inspections of various equipment
* Dismantling and repairing or replacing fault components
* Reassembling and testing components to ensure they are working safely
* Performing checks on new equipment before first use
* Using reports to diagnose faults
* Updating service records
* Escalating faults to managers
* Use of a wide range of specialist tools
* Keeping the workshop area clean and tidy
* PPE guidance always followed
Qualifications & Experience
* IPAF CAP training program (LOLER)
* IPAF 1a, 3a, 3b Operators License
* Over 4 years' engineering experience with powered access equipment
* Operating of MEWP's
