Payroll & Administrative Officer Location: Newham (Multi-Academy Trust Central Team) Salary: £15.10 per hour Contract: Full-time, Temporary (Ongoing) Start Date: ASAP About the Role: A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Payroll & Administrative Officer to join the central team of a Multi-Academy Trust based in Newham. This is a long-term temporary position with an immediate start, providing essential payroll and administrative support to the Trust’s operations. The successful candidate must have prior payroll experience, with a sound understanding of payroll processing procedures, statutory deductions, and payroll systems. This is a varied and busy role requiring excellent attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Key Responsibilities: * End-to-end processing of monthly payroll for staff across multiple academies. * Maintain accurate payroll records and staff data. * Calculate statutory payments (e.g., SSP, SMP, SPP) and deductions. * Liaise with external payroll providers and resolve payroll queries promptly. * Support wider administrative duties as required by the central office team. * Ensure GDPR compliance in the handling of sensitive data. Person Specification: Essential: * Proven, hands-on payroll processing experience (minimum 1 year). * Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and statutory obligations. * Excellent administrative, organisational, and time-management skills. * High level of accuracy and attention to detail. * Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. * Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel). Desirable: * Previous experience working in an educational or Multi-Academy Trust environment.
