To support our growth, we’re looking to appoint a Senior Civil Engineer in Manchester or Leeds, focusing on wastewater, clean water, and Better Rivers projects.
Water management is central to our work. We support major clients like Severn Trent Water, Thames Water, Yorkshire Water, and the Government of Jersey, collaborating closely with contractors to develop innovative designs. Core Responsibilities
1. Create designs from feasibility through to construction, leading technical design for projects of varying size, type, and complexity, both single discipline and multi-disciplinary.
2. Support appraisals and design of structures for pumping stations, sewerage, clean water networks, surface water management, blue and green infrastructure, and detention tanks.
3. Mentor junior colleagues, supporting their development.
4. Represent the firm at client meetings and contribute to winning new work.
5. Support project and team management, contributing innovative, sustainable, and low-carbon solutions.
6. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety requirements, practices, and procedures.
About You
* Degree or equivalent in civil engineering, working towards a professional qualification.
* Chartered or near Chartered with ICE or CIWEM.
* CEng with post-chartered experience or IEng with relevant experience in wastewater.
* Experience managing wastewater and/or clean water infrastructure schemes.
* Proficiency with industry design software.
* Excellent communication skills, team player, confident, positive attitude.
* Technical appreciation, report writing, presentation skills.
* Experience with various contract types.
* Ability to liaise confidently with clients and build rapport with teams.
* Problem-solving skills and accountability.
* Experience in report writing, client interaction, and work-winning (desirable).
* Leadership experience in technical management and mentoring.
