Job Title: Caretaker / Facilities Assistant
We are supporting an academy of schools in recruiting a Caretaker/Facilities Assistant responsible for supporting day-to-day facilities duties. The role involves assisting with the maintenance and security of premises, buildings, and grounds.
If you have some experience in facilities, trades, maintenance, or operational functions, and a keenness to learn and develop, this might be the role for you.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist with maintenance and ad-hoc repairs.
2. Help maintain the security of school premises, buildings, and grounds.
3. Assist in operating and testing security systems.
4. Participate in compliance checks.
5. Supervise contractors on-site.
6. Set up and supervise events.
Candidate Requirements:
* Previous experience in a maintenance, handyman, or caretaker role.
* Team player with adaptability and flexibility.
* Full UK Driving Licence and own transport (essential) due to working across multiple sites.
The position starts immediately as a temporary role with weekly work until transfer to a permanent contract. Hours are 37 per week with flexibility to cover between 06:00 and 22:00, though start and finish times are rarely at these extremes.
The role is subject to Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks.
