Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen on Ward 1 at Alnwick. We require an enthusiastic, highly motivated registered nurse to join our team.
Ward 1 is a 23-bed innovative and forward-thinking Care of the Elderly Ward, specialising in rehabilitation. The ward has a strong focus on multidisciplinary team working to ensure safe and effective care for our patients.
The successful candidate will be expected to work as part of a dynamic nursing team, delivering all aspects of care to patients. Previous experience in a similar setting is desirable but not essential. The post involves fully rotational day/night shifts, covering seven days a week including bank holidays.
This ward offers a wide range of clinical experiences with scope for staff development. Candidates should be committed to working effectively as part of a multi-professional team and possess excellent communication skills.

* Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care as part of the multidisciplinary team under the supervision of the Ward Manager.
* Organize and coordinate nursing services in the absence of senior staff, maintaining high clinical standards.
* Model compassionate and inclusive leadership to foster a collective leadership culture within the Trust.

Job responsibilities
* Exercise accountability as per the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
* Maintain high clinical standards and nursing care standards.
* Provide nursing care to a caseload of patients, including verbal and written handovers.
* Ensure individualized care plans are formulated and carried out for up to 30 patients.
* Model compassionate and inclusive leadership to promote a collective leadership culture, engaging and empowering staff, using coaching, and facilitating teamwork across departments.
Person Specification
Qualifications (Essential)
* First Level live NMC registered Nurse.
* Evidence of qualification for supervising, teaching, and assessing students (to be completed within 18 months).
Qualifications (Desirable)
* Diploma/degree in nursing.
* Post-registration qualification in a specialty.
* PP126/7, D32/33 certifications.
Experience and Knowledge (Desirable)
* Experience in coaching, mentoring, and quality improvement tools and techniques.
