Job Overview
This is a field based, mobile position covering the Midlands as part of the Dft contract.
Our Multi Skilled Technicians provide a mobile delivery of facilities support services across our client sites. They will report to one of the Regional operations supervisors and assist mobile engineers as required in the delivery of reactive, planned and ad hoc maintenance tasks.
Main Duties
1. Will have specific knowledge for mechanical and electrical building services which are considered normal for a building office location.
2. Have an excellent knowledge of planned & reactive maintenance requirements in commercial buildings.
3. Will be expected to have acquired elements of other skills which will enable them to work flexibly across trades.
4. They will operate as part of an effective Professional Maintenance team. The post holder will have drive and enthusiasm, be self-motivated and be expected to work on their own initiative and also as part of a team.
5. Carry out Ppm service, test, diagnose & repair of mechanical & electrical installations, plant and equipment.
6. Maintain accurate documentation of all assigned work orders.
7. Comply fully with Health, Safety & Environmental policies.
8. Completion of documentation as required, including RAMS and adhere to all associated permits.
9. Flexibility in work hours to provide cover if required for holidays and sickness absence.
10. To assist all trades within the team and through the correct training be able to complete tasks away from your core skills.
11. Provide excellent customer service to building occupants, ensuring they are made aware of work order progress in a timely manner
Health & Safety:
12. Follow Group and company policies and procedures, at all times.
13. Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery, or risk to health and safety, or the environment.
14. Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received.
15. Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system.
16. Take personal responsibility for Health & Safety matters.
What we are looking for
17. Relevant CG/NVQ qualifications.
18. Experience of mechanical or electrical systems.
19. Legionella awareness
20. Be confident to work and understand the requirement of working safely within a team environment.
21. Experience preferably in a similar Facilities Management / Building Services back ground
22. The post holder will have an obligation to undertake where necessary training to ensure the level of competency is up held
23. IT skills relevant to the position as work orders are to be issued using PDA's and or Windows based software
24. Good knowledge of Statutory Compliance
25. Ability to record work accurately on work sheets and computer based systems
26. Experience of working within a customer focused environment.
