GSL Education are seeking a dynamic and energetic Sports Coach to support physical education within a thriving school in Ossett. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead, mentor, and motivate students while helping to promote a healthy and active lifestyle.
Role Overview:
As a Sports Coach, you will be at the heart of delivering high-quality physical activity sessions, supporting both curriculum-based PE lessons and extracurricular sporting opportunities. You will work alongside experienced educators and pastoral teams, using sport as a tool to foster student engagement, confidence, and emotional resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, lead, and assist with engaging sports and fitness activities.
* Work collaboratively with PE staff to support curriculum delivery.
* Encourage participation and positive behaviour through structured games and teamwork.
* Lead or assist with after-school clubs, school teams, and sports competitions.
* Help manage behaviour and provide pastoral support during physical activities.
* Identify and nurture sporting talent and promote physical confidence among all students.
* Ensure the safety, welfare, and enjoyment of all pupils during sessions.
Job Requirements:
* Experience coaching or mentoring young people in school or community settings.
* A recognised coaching qualification or a degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or a related field.
* Passion for working with children and supporting their holistic development.
* Ability to deliver engaging and inclusive physical activities across various age groups.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Positive classroom and behaviour management skills.
* Have anupdated CV(covering thelast ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) andan enhanced DBSregistered to theUpdate Service(or be willing to apply for one).
