Network Infrastructure Engineer
Gloucester - Hyrbid Role + Client Visits
Up to £50,000 + Bonus + Outstanding Benefits
I’m recruiting on behalf of a specialist tech consultancy that’s making serious waves in a niche sector. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Network Infrastructure Engineer who’s either already in a project-heavy role or looking to move into one, and who wants to work with a team that genuinely values growth, autonomy, and meaningful delivery.
You’ll join a fast-growing, highly regarded consultancy working exclusively with prestigious independent schools across the UK. This is a company that blends cutting-edge tech with clarity, purpose, and people-first values.
Why this is worth your attention:
If you’re passionate about project work and want a role where you can design and deliver end-to-end infrastructure solutions, this could be exactly what you're after. This is not a reactive support role, it’s a consultative, client-facing position where you’ll be building relationships, scoping solutions, and taking ownership of delivery.
You’ll also gain exposure to large-scale, high-impact projects across a range of modern technologies, with plenty of opportunity to develop new skills, gain certifications, and progress into more senior roles.
What you’ll be doing:
*
Leading the technical delivery of infrastructure projects (both on-site and remotely)
*
Scoping and designing tailored network, security, and cloud solutions
*
Acting as a key technical resource in pre-sales discussions
*
Carrying out comprehensive infrastructure assessments and producing client-ready reports
*
Providing 2nd/3rd line support and guidance for client IT teams
*
Collaborating with internal engineers and leadership to raise the bar across delivery
What you’ll need:
*
Strong hands-on experience with networks, firewalls, and Microsoft infrastructure
*
Fortinet NSE4 (or equivalent hands-on firewall experience)
*
Solid understanding of DNS, DHCP, IP Subnetting, Microsoft Intune, and Entra ID
*
Experience with Aruba wired/wireless networks, email/web filtering, and cloud platforms
*
Clear communication skills and a consultative, solutions-focused mindset
*
A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel (with occasional overnight stays)
Experience working in or with educational settings is a bonus, but not essential.
What’s in it for you:
*
Project-led role with meaningful autonomy
*
Exposure to exciting large-scale and high-profile projects
*
Ongoing investment in training and professional development
*
Competitive salary + performance-related bonus
*
Flexible, hybrid working setup with WFH support budget
*
EV Salary Sacrifice Scheme
*
22 days holiday + bank holidays + your birthday off
*
Holiday increases with service and a great perks/discount scheme
*
Enhanced sick pay and company pension
Who this role is ideal for:
*
You’re already in a 2nd/3rd line or project-focused role and ready to step up
*
You’re keen to develop your technical skills further and work with enterprise-level tools
*
You love solving problems, taking ownership, and delivering great outcomes for clients
*
You want a role that offers variety, responsibility, and long-term career development
