Overview
The Discovery Academy is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic SEN Practitioner to work in our newly opened SEN Resource Provision, Aspen Hollis. This will be the 1st Secondary SEN Resource provision in Stoke-on-Trent. The provision will cater for up to 16 children who have an Education Health Care Plan for Communication and Interaction Needs and provide a nurturing space for personalised learning enhanced with some mainstream lessons. The post is 32.5 hours per week, term time only, Level 7, with an actual salary of £23,835 - £25,891.
The ability to converse at ease with members of the public, including staff and students in accurate spoken English is essential for the post; postholders must be able to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence through the medium of English.

Responsibilities and context
The Discovery Academy aims to provide inclusive education and opportunities for students to engage with mainstream life at their own pace, participating in extracurricular activities, social events, and shared learning experiences with their peers. The SEN Practitioner will contribute to delivering high-quality teaching and learning within the SEN Resource Provision and support personal development and inclusion across the academy.
