Overview
We're looking to recruit a Perinatal Mental Health Specialist Midwife on a part time basis at Whiston Hospital! They will work as a midwife within the Perinatal Mental Health Service, accepting direct referrals from a range of sources to provide assessment of mental health needs, developing care plans in collaboration with members of the Perinatal Mental Health Team. They will also provide short term support and onward referral to appropriate services as required. To promote and steer evidence based best practice for women with perinatal mental health issues throughout their maternity pathway. The post holder will have responsibility for coordinating the care for women requiring specialist input from the Perinatal Mental Health Team in the antenatal and the post-natal period including the provision of complex care plans alongside the provision of input into intrapartum care relating to perinatal mental health.
Responsibilities
* Provide assessment of mental health needs for women referred to the Perinatal Mental Health Service.
* Develop care plans in collaboration with the Perinatal Mental Health Team.
* Provide short term support and onward referral as required.
* Promote evidence based best practice for women with perinatal mental health issues throughout the maternity pathway.
* Coordinate care for women requiring specialist input in the antenatal and post-natal periods, including the provision of complex care plans and input into intrapartum care relating to perinatal mental health.

* Disclosure and Barring Service Check: If this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
* DBS costs: applicants may be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. Consider DBS Update Service where applicable.
* eVisa / UKVI: guidance includes creating a UKVI account, linking current passport, and accessing the eVisa.
