Job summary We have a fabulous opportunity to recruit a Band 7 Practice Development Occupational Therapist. The brand new exciting post will be providing support and mentorship in the development of practice within the Occupational Therapy department, including students, newly qualified staff and an apprenticeship programme. The post will work as a member of the therapies education team supporting all types of learners from pre-registration students, to new graduates, and those on post graduate development programmes delivering the trust vision "To attract the best people, value and develop them so that the teams they work in deliver outstanding care to our patients." Main duties of the job The post holder will provide effective leadership and management to ensure development of high-quality mentorship and development of practice within the Occupational Therapy department. The post holder will act as a role model and promote quality evidence-based practice. The post holder is also expected to support safe staffing as required. The post holder will provide an expert clinical role model working with the Professional Lead Occupational Therapist to co-ordinate practice development and innovation within the department and support the development of Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy. The post holder should be able to work clinically within the acute setting and will be expected to facilitate staff development in collaboration with the Professional Lead and other Team Leaders. They will provide specialist support, advice and education to Occupational Therapy team members. The post holder is accountable for their professional actions and will work without direct supervision. The purpose of the post is to empower staff in Occupational Therapy to effectively assess and treat all patients requiring Occupational Therapy input.
