Job Description
3. Assist in balance sheet reconciliations, prepayments, accruals and forecasting
4. Monitor and manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
5. Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
6. Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of financial data.
7. Prepare and submit VAT returns and other financial compliance documentation.
8. Provide support for internal and external audits.
9. Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
10. Collaborate with the wider accounting and finance team to improve processes and efficiency.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Assistant Accountant should have:
11. A background in accounting and finance, ideally within the retail industry.
12. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
13. Experience with accounting software and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
14. An eye for detail and excellent organisational skills.
15. A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
16. Relevant qualifications or progress towards professional accounting certification.
17. Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with stakeholders.
