We are looking for Grid Connections Manager
Location: Farnborough, Hampshire, England( hybrid)
Position Overview:
* Conduct market research to identify manufacturers and service providers.
* Continuously benchmark costs and forecast trends to optimize procurement strategies.
* Implement quality assurance measures to ensure high performance of sourced products and services.
* Ensure all procured materials comply with current standards and regulations.
* Evaluate suppliers and products to make informed purchasing decisions.
* Assist in customer consultations to provide technical and strategic insights.
* Develop high-voltage product systems, services, and corporate processes tailored for the UK market.
* Oversee and enhance the electrical engineering planning of high-voltage systems and building services.
* Independently manage sub-projects related to substations and grid connection cable routes, including liaising with grid operators, preparing planning and service specifications, overseeing execution, and ensuring manufacturer qualification with FAT.
* Supervise construction project management for Point of Connection works and subcontracted ICPs, ensuring compliance with all contractual obligations.
* Negotiate contracts with ICP suppliers to secure favorable terms.
* Manage budgets throughout the project construction phase.
* Collaborate with planning and design teams to identify and implement optimal solutions.
* Work closely with the commercial team to align contractual agreements with client needs and business objectives.
Candidate Profile:
Seeking an experienced Grid Connections Manager with a background in ICPs, DNOs, National Grid, or Solar EPC. The ideal candidate will possess strong written and verbal communication skills, effective time management abilities, and the capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience in overseeing contracted ICPs is essential, along with the confidence to challenge contractors and ensure they meet their obligations.
