Five Education are currently recruiting adaptable, resilient, and compassionate education professionals to work across SEND specialist provision schools in the Taunton and Bridgwater area. These settings support pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism, SEMH, ADHD, learning difficulties, and complex needs. Due to fluctuating demand within schools, this is a flexible, demand-led role where your responsibilities may vary. At times, you may be required to work as a Cover Supervisor, delivering pre-planned lessons and managing behaviour. During periods where cover demand is lower, you may work as a Teaching Assistant or HLTA, providing 1:1 support, leading interventions, or supporting within small classes. Pay will be adjusted accordingly, in line with the responsibilities of the role you are undertaking This is an ideal opportunity for someone confident in both classroom leadership and hands-on support roles within specialist SEND environments. The role: - Delivering pre-set lessons and managing classroom behaviour as a Cover Supervisor - Providing 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEND - Supporting pupils with SEMH, emotional regulation, and behavioural needs - Leading targeted interventions or small group sessions as an HLTA - Using calm, consistent approaches and de-escalation strategies - Promoting inclusion, safety, and positive engagement across the school day What We're Looking For: - Experience working in SEND, specialist provision, alternative provision, or similar settings - Confidence managing behaviour and leading a classroom when required - A calm, patient, and emotionally intelligent approach - Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing school needs - A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs This is a rewarding opportunity to gain varied experience across specialist settings while making a meaningful difference to pupils who require consistency, understanding, and skilled support.
