We are hiring - Join The Escape Game team
We're not your average workplace - this is a job with a difference At The Escape Game, we bring fun, challenge, and unforgettable memories to every customer who walks through our doors. Whether they win or lose, our guests always leave with a smile - and you could be the one making that happen.
We're looking for someone who isn't just here to work the games but also to help us grow. You'll play a key role in spreading the word, reaching out to local businesses, distributing flyers, and encouraging bookings. In return, you'll benefit directly - the more bookings you generate, the more hours you'll have, as you'll also be the one running those games.
To support stability, we guarantee a minimum of 9 hours per week (pro-rata). Realistically, most weeks are hours, with busy weeks reaching 20 hours or more. With the right person driving the brand and responding to enquiries, there's potential for well above that. We're open Thursday to Sunday, with game schedules varying from a single booking up to 10 in a day - sometimes with short notice. Because games can be spread throughout the day, we often run split shifts - if there's more than 1.5 hours between games, you'll be free to go home and relax, making this role particularly well-suited for someone local. There is also the opportunity to open on currently closed days, especially during school holidays, meaning you can choose to work extra days if you want to open up slots.
What will you do?
This is more than just watching games - you'll be at the heart of the action. Your role will include (but not be limited to):
* Greeting guests and taking payments
* Delivering immersive in-character game introductions
* Monitoring games and providing timely clues to enhance the experience
* Resetting rooms and preparing puzzles for the next team
* Diagnosing, fixing, or reporting prop and puzzle issues
* Taking exit photos and encouraging reviews and repeat visits
* Responding to customer enquiries (in person, by phone, and online)
* Promoting and generating new bookings through local outreach
* Cleaning and maintaining a professional, welcoming environment
* Knowing and following evacuation procedures in case of emergency
Who are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will:
* Be over 18 years old
* Have great charisma, energy, and customer presence
* Be motivated, independent, and able to think quickly under pressure
* Have basic computer skills (we'll train you on our systems)
* Be confident with multitasking and organisation
* Be reliable with your own means of transport or live locally (public transport is not ideal)
* Be flexible with hours and adaptable to changing schedules
* Be someone who leaves a lasting impression on guests
* We're looking for someone motivated and full of ideas, able to drive sales and form partnerships with local hotels, businesses, attractions, and venues to increase bookings.
Why join us?
* A guaranteed minimum of 9 hours per week (pro-rata)
* Realistic hours of most weeks, with the potential for lots more if you help grow the business
* Direct impact on your own hours and income - the more bookings you help generate, the more games you get to run
* A fun, exciting job that's never the same two days in a row
* Split shifts give you downtime between games if there's a long gap
* Opportunity to open extra days (such as school holidays) to increase hours
If you're enthusiastic, customer-focused, and eager to be part of a growing business, we'd love to hear from you. Previous applicants are welcome to reapply.
We pay national minimum wage as standard. But business you generate will increase hours and also has a commission attached.
