This is an incredible opportunity to gain valuable experience of working at chief officer level across a range of corporate and community based functions at a time of exciting change, bringing in the York Neighbourhood Model as a new operating model for York building on recent Executive approval and fully supported by the council’s Transformation Programme.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the role are to encourage resilient and resourceful communities to gain more control over their lives. To increase access to all services across all customer service channels with additional responsibility specifically for bereavement and registration services, migration settlement activities, culture and leisure services, and to improve equalities, community cohesion and enhance residents lives within their neighbourhoods.
Working as part of a small but effective management team, and working alongside city partners you will also deputise for the Director across other functions as required and represent them at Corporate Management Team, Executive and other key meetings.

Working Arrangements
Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
