Job Advert – Family Time Team Coordinator Location: Worcestershire Directorate: Children’s Services We are currently recruiting for a Family Time Team Coordinator to join Worcestershire County Council’s Children’s Services. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to play a pivotal role in coordinating and overseeing Family Time services, ensuring children and young people receive high-quality, safe, and outcome-focused support. About the Role As the Family Time Team Coordinator, you will: Oversee the delivery of Family Time services for children open to Worcestershire Children’s Services, or who are subject to Adoption or Special Guardian Support Plans. Supervise, support, and manage a team of Family Time Workers, ensuring effective workload allocation, development, and performance management. Ensure Family Time Plans and Risk Assessments are child-focused, outcome-led, and in line with statutory requirements. Manage referrals through the Children’s Services IT system (LCS), providing rationale and signposting where necessary. Respond to complaints and feedback from families and partners, ensuring learning is implemented. Contribute to service planning and policy development, ensuring innovative approaches are taken to meet evolving needs. Lead on safeguarding decisions, escalating appropriately, and prioritising the safety of staff, children, and families. Maintain accurate records, dashboards, and supervision notes in line with Practice Standards. About You We are looking for someone with: Substantial experience of working with children and families, particularly those with complex needs. A proven track record in mentoring, advising, and coaching staff to improve practice. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team. In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation (Children Acts 1989 & 2004, Childcare Act 2006, etc.) and safeguarding practices. Excellent communication and report-writing skills, with the ability to work effectively in multi-agency settings. Competency in using IT systems for case management and reporting. It is desirable that you also have experience managing projects, monitoring budgets/resources, and working collaboratively with partner agencies. Qualifications NVQ Level 5 (or equivalent), or compensatory experience at an equivalent level. Additional Information This role requires travel across Worcestershire, including to areas with limited public transport. You must be able to undertake an enhanced DBS check (including children and/or adults barred list checks). The role may involve some physically and emotionally demanding work, with full training and supervision provided. Why Join?
