The Role
As a Welder, you’ll be part of a world-leading team specialising in high-integrity welding for the defence industry. Your work will directly contribute to projects that protect national security and support critical infrastructure. This is an opportunity to develop your skills in a dynamic environment, working on complex assemblies that demand precision and excellence.
As a skilled Welder you will be working in a small but highly effective team where the highest of standards will be expected from both a technical and behavioural perspective.
Day-to-day, your key responsibilities will include:
1. Welding of large high strength quenched and tempered Steel assemblies for the defence industry.
2. Welding of assemblies used for lifting and handling in the defence industry.
3. Welds are subject to full NDT including volumetric Ultrasonic and radiographic examination.
4. Welding using manual, mechanised and automatic (Robotic) welding processes
You will be someone for whom collaboration and teamwork comes naturally. You will be a self-starter who wants to make a positive impact on a daily basis.
This role is full time, 36 hours per week and is based on site at Ashton Vale, Bristol.
Essential experience of the Welder
5. Time served apprenticeship or similar in welding/fabrication.
6. Evidence of previously held codings to recognised European/American standards and working to high quality standards.
7. Capable of reading complex fabrication drawings.
8. Experience of positional welding using FCAW and solid Wire pulse MAG is essential.
9. Experience of welding in the defence industry is desirable.
