We are looking for an Engineering & Design Manager / Senior Design Manager to join our Infrastructure rail team. Our infrastructure team brings its design, build and refurbishment expertise to complex projects across the country. We form strong partnerships with clients and communities to deliver major infrastructure improvements like A14 improvement scheme, HS2 and Waterloo and Southwest station upgrade.
You'll:
1. Undertake CEM Duties for a Major Enhancement or Workbank Portfolio of works.
2. Management and co-ordination of the Engineering and Design Management Team to ensure that the works are delivered in accordance with the project programme and budget.
3. Lead the team to ensure they are supported and resources are adequately allocated to the works.
4. Responsible for the implementation of the Project Engineering and Design Management Plan on the NW&C Framework Project or Workbank.
5. Support the continual review and improvement of the Engineering and Design Management Plans, tools and process for the NW&C framework.
6. Management of design packages within the Project or Workbank
7. Monitor design maturity and provide support to the commercial teams in development of commercial strategies.
8. Feed into project period reporting, both internal and external.
9. Responsible for the monitoring and review of the design programme, including lead design organisation, sub-contractor(s) and fabrication information programme. The programme will be updated by the Design organisations and the Engineering & Design Manager shall work with the Planning team to integrate this into the overall project programme.
We're looking for:
10. Degree Level qualification and preferably a Chartered Engineer with an appropriate Institute
11. Ability to translate strategy into specific objectives and actions plans.
12. Proven experience and ability to develop procedures and systems.
13. Experience of using digital systems and field tools as part of the Engineering & Design delivery of projects
