The Role: We are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable Meter Reader to join NIE team in the Newry area. As a Meter Reader, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely readings of electricity meters, which is essential for customer billing and energy management.
Key Responsibilities:
* Accurately read and record electricity meters in residential and commercial properties.
* Ensure timely and efficient collection of meter data.
* Report any issues or irregularities observed during meter readings.
* Provide excellent customer service and address any queries from customers.
* Adhere to all health and safety regulations while performing duties.
* Utilize handheld devices to record and transmit meter readings.
Essential Criteria:
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
* Strong organizational and time management skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently.
* Good communication and customer service skills.
* Physical ability to walk long distances and work in various weather conditions.
* A current UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Desirable Criteria:
* Previous experience in meter reading or a similar role.
* Basic understanding of electricity meters and related equipment.
