The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly experienced Regional Buyer to play a key role as part of the commercial team based at the head office in Sheffield. In this pivotal role, you will oversee procurement activities for multiple residential development projects across the Midlands and the North, driving the delivery of high-quality new homes. Your expertise will be critical in ensuring projects are completed efficiently, on time, and to the highest standards, while actively supporting the company's broader strategic objectives.
What We're Looking For
Relevant Qualifications:
* CIPS / MCIPS qualification or equivalent
Experience:
* Previous background in successfully delivering various residential developments for a well-established house builder
* At least 5 years of experience in a Buying / Procurement role within the industry
Key Skills:
* Effective time management
* Strong negotiation capabilities
* Analytical and mathematical skills
* Cost management expertise
* Excellent sales and presentation skills
* Strong communication and attention to detail
* Understanding of construction materials, methods, and techniques
* Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cost control
* Proficiency in COINS procurement system and Microsoft Office packages
* Understanding of procurement regulations, building regulations, and NHBC standards
Key Responsibilities
* Issuing purchase orders with accurate quantities, specifications, and delivery terms
* Managing material rebate activities
* Monitoring annual expenditure, preparing analysis, and issuing tenders
* Supporting group procurement across regions and projects, ensuring compliance and value
* Providing operational and technical support to regional buying teams
* Collaborating with teams to oversee site-specific costs, budgets, and schedules
* Managing workload to meet deadlines and KPIs
* Resolving supplier, delivery, and invoice issues to maintain efficiency
