As a Shift Supervisor, you will contribute to the success of the site by supporting the Shift Operations Manager in the day-to-day running of the warehouse. You will ensure all aspects of Health & Safety within the Warehouse are maintained and that products are picked and dispatched to the highest standards to meet contractual KPIs.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Ensure that Health & Safety is prioritized in line with site and business goals.
* Manage and motivate the shift team to achieve or exceed productivity and service KPIs.
* Deliver communication briefings to keep all shifts informed of company and local issues, encouraging input and involvement.
* Develop team members to maximize their contributions and support succession planning.
* Conduct disciplinary and grievance interviews and investigations following company procedures.
* Monitor and control sickness absence levels and conduct return-to-work interviews effectively.
* Oversee time and attendance systems.
* Provide regular feedback on team and individual performance, including behavioral issues and areas for development.
* Plan labor needs, including overtime and agency workers, for efficient shift operation.
* Enforce and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
* Support the Shift Operations Manager in all aspects of the operation.
* Promote a culture of continuous improvement.
* Foster employee engagement.
Qualifications
* High attention to detail.
* Good oral and written communication skills.
* Strong interpersonal and conciliatory skills.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
* Effective prioritization skills to meet deadlines.
* Knowledge of WMS systems is advantageous but not essential.
* Experience in packing or e-commerce operations is beneficial.
* Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
