Job Title: Optometrist (Part-Time) Job Summary
We are looking for a passionate and patient-focused Optometrist to join our friendly, community-based practice. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality eye examinations and contact lens services, while helping to create a welcoming and supportive environment for both patients and colleagues. The Location
Our store is located in a pedestrian town-centre square, surrounded by shops, cafés, and wine bars. The picturesque marina is just a stone’s throw away, with a beach and outdoor bathing pools less than a 10-minute walk from the store — perfect for a swim before work, during lunch, or after your shift.
In keeping with the local island lifestyle, the store is closed on Sundays and Bank Holidays, promoting a strong work–life balance and family-focused culture.
The Store
6 fully equipped testing rooms
Latest clinical technology including OCT and ultra-widefield imaging
Strong focus on clinical excellence and professional development
Operates with a close-knit, independent-style culture while offering the benefits of a larger organisation
The Team
Total team of 27 colleagues
5 Optometrists and 2 Dispensing Opticians
All dispensing colleagues trained to at least Level 3, with several at Level 4
Supportive, collaborative culture with a strong focus on learning and development
Key Responsibilities
Deliver thorough eye examinations and contact lens services
Detect, manage, and refer ocular conditions as appropriate
Provide high standards of clinical care and customer service
Work collaboratively with the wider store team to meet patient and business needs
Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure compliance with regulations
Support and contribute to a positive, professional working environment
Team Development
Actively contribute to mentoring and supporting colleagues
Share clinical knowledge and best practice within the team
Engage in ongoing training and development opportunities
Support a culture of continuous improvement and learning
About You
GOC registered Optometrist
Passionate about patient care and clinical quality
Comfortable working in a community-focused environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Willing to work as part of a supportive, close-knit team
Open to continued learning and professional development

What We Offer
Salary package of up to £60,000 – £70,000 pro rata, depending on experience
Part-time role including Saturdays
