Job Title - Workshop/Field Service Engineer

Role Description
Highly skilled, motivated and experienced Service Engineer specialising in cryogenic pump repairs. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining cryogenic pumps and related systems at customer sites, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction as well as at our Workshop in Grangemouth.
You will play a critical role in ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and operational efficiency to our customers. A strong technical background in cryogenic systems, excellent problem-solving abilities and a commitment to delivering high-quality results. Beyond resolving technical issues, your role will involve fostering professional, trust-based relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Key Responsibilities
1. Repair and Maintenance:
* Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair cryogenic pumps and associated systems.
* Supervise the work of technicians and site teams, ensuring tasks are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standard.
* Allocate work assignments based on job requirements, team skillsets and workload priorities to optimize performance.
* Perform routine and preventative maintenance to ensure reliable operation.
* Replace or refurbish defective pump components.
* Ensuring inspection and test procedures are followed.
* Assisting the Operations Manager in planning and programming of all the work. This includes mobilisation arrangements.
* Workshop attendance for repair and maintenance will be load and schedule dependent.
* Maintaining tools and test equipment and ensuring they are properly calibrated.
2. Technical Expertise:
* Analyse equipment performance and recommend upgrades or improvements.
* Utilise advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to identify system inefficiencies.
* Work with specialised tools and machinery to service cryogenic equipment safely and effectively.
* Ensuring job documents - daily reports, job completion reports and time sheets are completed to CPR Standard. To be signed and submitted in a timely manner.
* Co-ordinating Risk Assessments and Method Statements for work at CPR, customer vessels or customer workshops.
3. Quality Assurance:
* Ensure all work complies with industry standards, safety protocols, and company quality guidelines.
* Ensuring that the Health & Safety of not only themselves, but also that of all employees, visitors and any other contractors are at the forefront of the daily work activities.
* Ensuring that all employees and/or any outside bodies under their control comply with the company’s Health, Safety and Environmental Procedures, and any relevant legislation and to ensure safe systems of work are always used.
* Ensuring employees and other vessel personnel comply with procedures, instructions and the wearing of appropriate safety equipment.
* Conduct rigorous testing to verify proper functionality of repaired systems.
* Maintain detailed documentation of repair activities, findings, and corrective actions.
4. Customer Support and Collaboration:
* Build strong and maintain customer relationships by understanding their needs, providing tailored solutions and offering reliable support.
* Provide technical support and guidance to customers and end-users.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve customer issues.
* Support team with troubleshooting problems and queries.
* Identifying and participating in sales opportunities such as new maintenance activities/contracts and replenishment of spare parts
5. Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
* Stay up to date with advancements in cryogenic technology and industry trends.
* Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance service efficiency.
* Participate in the development of new repair protocols and tools.
* Investigating Accidents, including Near Misses and Spillages, reporting any issues and details to the Operations Manager and Vessel Superintendents.
Qualifications & Requirements
The following qualifications are the minimum requirements necessary to
successfully perform this role. However, any equivalent combination of
experience, education and training, which provides the necessary knowledge,
skills and abilities, would be acceptable, subject to any legal and/or
regulatory requirements.
* College or High School Qualifications and relevant experience in the servicing and installation of rotating equipment.
* Experience in interfacing with both internal team members and external customers as part of a solution-based service process.
* Full valid driving licence and good driving record is required.
* Valid passport for overseas travel.
* Experience in troubleshooting and responding to customer concerns.
* Proficient level of computer skills including Google applications such as Gmail, sheets, docs etc
* Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical issues in an easy-to-understand manner.
* Resourceful, with the ability to work independently and mange time effectively.
* Strong time management skills.
* Ability to adapt to changing circumstances i.e. mobilise to site at short notice.
* Willingness to travel worldwide and work flexible hours.
