Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Car Mechanic to join our team, responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand and power tools, and the ability to interpret schematics. Responsibilities
* Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
* Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and other vehicle components
* Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively for assembly, disassembly, and repair tasks
* Repair or replace faulty parts, ensuring adherence to safety standards and manufacturer specifications
* Carry out welding and other specialised repairs as required
* Maintain detailed records of all work performed for each vehicle
* Assist with routine maintenance tasks to prevent future issues
* Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs needed and ensuring customer satisfaction
* Handle heavy lifting safely during the repair process and maintain a clean, organised workshop environment
Experience
* Proven experience as a Car Mechanic or similar role within an automotive workshop or garage setting
* Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read technical schematics and manuals
* Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic machinery
* Experience with vehicle assembly, maintenance programmes, and equipment repair techniques
* Knowledge of safety procedures related to heavy lifting and equipment handling
* Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing faults and executing repairs
* Prior experience delivering exceptional customer service is advantageous
