Job Summary
This post is a band 6 post working towards a postgraduate diploma in either Cardiac devices or Electrocardiography. Darent Valley Hospital
Main Duties
* Work independently in the pacing lab for dual chamber pacemaker implant including hardware selection.
* Perform device follow-up, including troubleshooting and program optimisation.
* Record all device implants and follow-ups on the TomCat data system. Training will be given.
* Perform and record device home monitoring clinics ensuring results are recorded in accordance with department protocols.
* Ensure basic stock control for a specific area.
* Provide cardiac physiologist support for left and right heart angiography and PCI.
* Provide physiologist support for IABP in the cardiac cath lab.
* Obtain basic echo images and produce a formal report if Echocardiography is your chosen route to work towards becoming accredited.
* Supervise exercise tolerance testing upon completion of the local Exercise Testing Competency Framework.
* Participate in the reporting of direct access ECGs.
* Competently perform resting and ambulatory ECG and BP recordings including event recorders, analysis and reporting of ambulatory (24/48 and 7 day) ECG.
* Perform head-up tilt table testing (HUTT).
* Review and prioritise inpatient requests for cardiac investigations including ambulatory ECGs and exercise tolerance tests.
* Keep abreast of new developments in products and techniques within international and diagnostic cardiology.

Job Description
Job responsibilities: To maintain discipline and standards of technical competency in the provision of investigative services within the department, maintaining a standard defined by departmental protocols. To eventually become unsupervised in advanced level techniques in implantation and follow-up of ICDs and biventricular devices. To work unsupervised in the cardiac cath lab for interventional procedures or to perform echocardiograms unsupervised.

Essential
* BSc in Clinical Cardiac Physiology
* Works independently in Cardiac Lab, etc.
* Has performed independently Echocardiograms
Desirable
* Extensive knowledge of cardiac diagnostic investigations
* Experience in cardiac diagnostics
* Excellent communication skills
* Computer skills
* Worked in Cardiology prior
