Protocol Education is currently working with a number of supportive primary schools across Gateshead who are looking for caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join their classrooms. These roles involve supporting pupils with additional learning needs, helping them feel safe, confident, and ready to learn each day. Working hours are typically 8.30am to 3.30pm, term time only. Why Work in SEN Support? Supporting children with additional needs can be one of the most rewarding roles in education. Every small breakthrough matters, and your support can have a lasting impact on a child’s confidence and progress. In this role, you will help pupils: • Feel supported and understood in the classroom • Develop confidence and independence • Stay engaged in learning activities • Build positive relationships with peers and staff Many people working in SEN roles go on to careers in teaching, educational psychology, therapy, or pastoral support. Why Supply Work Works So Well Working through Protocol Education allows you to gain experience while keeping flexibility. You can: • Choose the days you want to work • Build experience in different school settings • Develop valuable SEN support skills • Maintain a healthy work-life balance You’ll also benefit from the school holiday schedule, giving you time to recharge between terms.
