Overview
Applications are invited for a Consultant Intensive Care Medicine at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness. This additional substantive post comprises ten programmed activities (8 DCC: 2 SPA). This post primarily pertains to critical care (6.5PA) ideally with an allied specialty (1.5PA) e.g. anaesthesia.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly and dynamic critical care team and to live and work in the Highlands of Scotland.
Salary
£111,430 to £148,064 per annum pro rata.
Critical Care Team
The Critical Care Team currently comprises 9 Consultant Intensivists, 2 Specialists and 1 Specialty Doctor, 1 Advanced Critical Care Practitioner and 1 ACCP-trainee. There are a mixture of resident doctors in training including ACCS; Anaesthesia; FICM stage one and clinical fellows. The on-call commitment is dedicated to Critical Care Medicine and is currently 1:9 with prospective cover.
Responsibilities
* Undertake consultant duties in critical care medicine, with potential collaboration with an allied specialty (e.g., anaesthesia).
* Cover the on-call rota as described (1:9 with prospective cover).
* Contribute to teaching and supervision of trainees and junior staff within the Department of Critical Care.
Qualifications
* Must be on the GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of anticipated award of a CCT at the time of interview.
