Metrology Engineer – Norwich
Our manufacturing client is hiring for a Metrology Engineer to sit in Norwich. The role involves developing measurement processes for automated systems using Test and Measurement Instruments to ensure comprehensive and robust test coverage for each assigned product. It includes reviewing and providing input on product requirements to ensure they meet key criteria, as well as collaborating with colleagues to identify the necessary resources for executing the calibration plan. The position requires contributing schedule input to the project plan and identifying opportunities for process and quality improvements, driving execution with a continuous improvement mindset. Additionally, the role entails proposing and establishing new product development procedures, coordinating with other functions to support project needs, and interfacing with Hardware and Software Engineers to review system requirements and construct effective test strategies. The individual also contributes across the entire hardware/software development life cycle, from initial business requirements through to deployment, production, and service support.
Qualifications
* BSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
* Experience in the test and measurement field utilizing T&M instrumentation including calibration techniques.
* Practical experience of RF calibration and measurement techniques advisable.
* Experience of formal processes required to support accreditation (ISO 17025).
* Sound understanding of measurement uncertainty analysis.
* Demonstrated history of effective communication with geographically dispersed teams.
* Proactive ‘self-starter’ attitude and the ability to work with ambiguity, utilizing sound judgement and decision‑making skills.
* Ability to work independently.
* Ability to learn new concepts, processes and practices.
