Responsibilities Develop and implement IT strategies to enhance business efficiency, resilience, and growth. Lead and manage enterprise systems, infrastructure, networks, and business applications to ensure performance, security, and reliability. Accountable for the team delivery of daily IT operations, including end-user support, service desk management, incident and problem resolution, change control, and asset management Deliver IT services in accordance with defined SLAs, ensuring high levels of user satisfaction and operational stability. Establish and maintain effective IT governance, risk, and compliance controls, covering data protection (GDPR, UKDPA), cybersecurity, and business continuity. Identify and implement cost-effective, value-adding technology solutions to improve business processes. Manage third-party vendors, service providers, and technology contracts to ensure service quality and value for money. Advise senior leadership on technology risks, compliance requirements, and opportunities for innovation. Lead, mentor, and develop a small internal IT team, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture. Coordinate effectively with group IT functions within Van Oord to ensure alignment and integration with enterprise-wide systems. Monitor supplier performance against KPIs, SLAs, and contractual terms, driving continuous improvement. Provide direct hands-on support to end users, ensuring prompt resolution of issues and maintaining a high standard of service delivery. Training Full driving licence Relevant industry certifications highly desirable (e.g., ITIL, ISO 27001, TOGAF, PRINCE2) Skills & Knowledge Strong knowledge of structured IT service management (e.g., ITIL-based practices and supporting tools) Sound understanding of governance, risk, and compliance frameworks, including legal and regulatory requirements. Proven ability to deliver efficient, reliable IT operations and support Solid grasp of information security principles, data protection obligations, and risk mitigation practices Ability to align technology solutions with business needs, delivering operational improvements and efficiencies Effective leadership, team management, and stakeholder engagement skills Focus on continuous improvement, service excellence, and user experience Vendor and supplier management, including contract negotiation, commercial management, and performance oversight. Experience Minimum of 10–15 years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in progressively senior IT leadership or management roles Experience in senior IT roles combining leadership and operational management Demonstrable hands-on experience in IT service delivery, desktop support, infrastructure, and network management Experience with industry ERP, CRM and Construction Management solutions Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
