Description: Senior Materials & Welding Engineer Subsea Projects & Services Baker Hughes Subsea Projects & Services is seeking suitably experienced Senior Materials and Welding Engineers to join our global Materials Engineering team. These roles support a broad portfolio of activities across tenders, EPC projects, and Services work, and offer the opportunity to contribute throughout the full project lifecycle. Working within a multi disciplinary engineering environment, the successful candidates will play a critical role in ensuring materials integrity, compliance, and fitness for purpose across a wide range of subsea equipment and systems. The positions offer significant technical breadth and visibility and will appeal to engineers with diverse subsea materials, welding, and corrosion expertise. The roles involve close collaboration with internal stakeholders including design, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and project execution teams, as well as external vendors and clients on a global basis. Key Responsibilities The successful candidates will be responsible for a wide range of materials and welding engineering activities, including but not limited to: Review and interpretation of client specifications, applicable international codes and standards, and field/environmental conditions Development of Material Selection Reports, Corrosion Protection Philosophies, and associated technical documentation Contribution to and support of design reviews, including risk assessments and materials-related technical queries Evaluation and qualification of suppliers and sub-vendors, including review of capabilities, procedures, and compliance Review and approval of manufacturing and fabrication documentation such as WPS/PQRs, ITPs, material certificates, and NDE procedures Technical support to manufacturing and fabrication activities, including shop and vendor interface Assessment and resolution of materials- and welding-related non-conformances, including root cause analysis and corrective action support Input to lessons learned, continuous improvement initiatives, and technical governance activities Support to tendering activities, including technical scope definition and risk assessment Required Experience Degree qualified in Materials Engineering, Welding Engineering, or a related discipline Significant experience in Subsea Materials Engineering, ideally within an EPC or OEM environment Strong technical knowledge of welding processes, qualifications, and NDE techniques Ability to work under pressure and manage competing technical priorities across multiple projects Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface confidently with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders Proficiency in English, both written and spoken Preferred Experience and Qualifications NDE Level 3, IWE, or equivalent professional certification Experience working on EPC systems and complex project delivery models Proven track record in Subsea Systems Delivery, including production equipment and associated infrastructure Familiarity with international standards such as DNV, ISO, API, ASME, and NORSOK Additional Details Manager's Requested Bill Rate : 54.00 Marketing Title : (No Value) Expected Role Challenges : Managing multiple materials and welding engineering workstreams across tenders, EPC projects, and services activitiesInterpreting and reconciling client specifications, international standards, and environmental conditionsSupporting manufacturing and vendor activities while resolving technical queries and non conformancesWorking to tight schedules and balancing competing technical priorities across global projects Working Conditions : Primarily office based engineering work with potential travel to manufacturing facilities or vendor locationsCollaboration across global, multi disciplinary teams and project environmentsOccasional shop or supplier visits to support fabrication, inspection, or technical resolution Are there any safety risks associated with the role?
