About the Role
The SEN Teaching Assistant will provide targeted support to pupils with additional needs, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals. You will work closely with teachers and SEN staff to deliver personalised interventions, support classroom activities, and contribute to a calm, inclusive learning environment. Your role will have a direct impact on the pupils’ learning, social development, and overall school experience.
Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN.
* Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons tailored to individual pupil needs.
* Support pupils’ social, emotional, and communication development.
* Help implement and follow individual education plans (IEPs) and track progress.
* Assist with personal care needs where required, ensuring dignity and sensitivity.
* Contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages engagement and confidence.
Qualifications and Skills
* Experience supporting children with SEN or additional learning needs.
* Understanding of child development, behaviour management, and communication strategies.
* Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and SEN staff.
* Patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting pupils.
* Right to work in the UK and willingness to complete all relevant safer recruitment checks.
