About the Role:
As a Children’s Support Worker, you will provide vital support to children with complex needs, assisting with daily activities, personal care, and medical requirements. You will work closely with families, healthcare professionals, and education teams to create a nurturing and safe environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Support children with their daily routines, personal care, and developmental activities.
Implement and adhere to individual care plans.
Administer PEG feeding safely and effectively, following training and protocols.
Use restraint techniques appropriately and safely, in line with training and legislative guidelines.
Monitor children’s health and well-being, reporting any concerns promptly.
Maintain accurate records and documentation.
Promote a positive, supportive, and inclusive environment.
Essential Requirements:
Previous experience working with children with complex needs is desirable.
Restraint training (such as MAPA, PRIDE, or equivalent) completed and up-to-date.
Training in PEG feeding, with the ability to assist and administer feedings safely.
Compassionate, patient, and resilient approach.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
Desirable:
Relevant qualifications in childcare, health and social care, or related fields.
Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
Experience working with children with additional or medical needs.
