About Sue Ryder
Sue Ryder is a charity retailer with a network of high-street shops, including boutiques, vintage and retro stores, and large format stores. The role supports delivering care and fundraising initiatives to enable Sue Ryder to provide services across hospices, in people’s homes and in the community.
Role and Responsibilities
* As Shop Manager you will use your retail experience to drive business, push sales and achieve targets.
* Lead your team to deliver excellent customer service to donors and customers.
* Work with the local community to generate donated stock to drive sales.
* Recruit, train and retain a volunteer team, providing leadership and guidance.
* Set high standards of merchandising and housekeeping, prioritising health and safety.
* Manage stock processes to ensure the shop is well merchandised with fresh, seasonal stock.
* Act as a brand ambassador for Sue Ryder, supporting in-store campaigns and national fundraising initiatives.
* Manage stock processes through the Epos operation.
About You / Qualifications
* Experienced proactive shop manager with commercial awareness to deliver sales and meet deadlines.
* Proven team leadership skills and ability to lead a large team of volunteers.
* Enjoy engaging with people, with a positive can-do attitude.
* Good understanding of financial and IT administration.
Working Style
Most retail roles involve weekend work; managers mainly work 1 in 2. Some shops close early; earliest start is 8:45am. All Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day are off.
