A local authority has a temporary need to support their existing team for an Environmental Health Officer to work within the team to carry out inspections and deal withplaints.
JOB SUMMARYTo deliver a range of duties related to providing the functions of the Businesspliance Team and, in particular, food hygiene, health and safety and infectious disease control functions. To investigateplaints, carry out programmed inspections and deliver projects related to businesspliance and public health functions. To deliver the functions in a way that supports the Council’s vision to work together to shape our environment, drive our economy and support ourmunities. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Specific
1. To deliver the Council’s responses and duties, in line with written policies, procedures, performance indicators and best practice in respect of the following services:-
2. Food hygiene
3. Health and safety at work
4. Infectious disease control
5. Private water supplies
6. Welfare funerals
7. Other associated public health functions
8. To prepare evidence and appear in court and at inquiries as may be required.
9. Topetently and professionally prepare and issue statutory proceedings as designated to the post in accordance with the Council's process
What you'll need to succeed
or in Environmental Health.
Certificate of Registration of the Environmental Health Registration Board (EHRB) or equivalent.
Qualifications and up-to-date-documentedpetencies appropriate for officers undertaking official food hygiene controls (ref Chapter 4 of the Food Law Practice Guidance (England) or its successor)
Previous regulatory experience relating to:

11. Infectious disease control
12. Welfare funerals
13. Private water supplies
Lead food hygiene auditor qualification.
Also, a driving licence and access to your own vehicle for this purpose is essential.
What you'll get in return This role is for a 6-month contract. It is weekly pay, and you can work Umbrella or PAYE. It is Inside IR35.
