Shift Leader pay: starts from £14.76 an hour; increases to £15.97 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location.
It is policy to offer new colleagues joining us a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week. If you would like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12) we have opportunities for this too and would love to hear from you.
The following availability windows indicate periods of time in the week we would like you to be available to work. We will schedule your contracted hours within these times, and you will have 3 weeks\' notice of exactly when your shifts will be. We are happy to support flexibility; if your available times match closely but not exactly to the advertised times, we would still love to hear from you.
Applicants should be aware this role involves customer service and store operations, and there is an emphasis on availability and flexibility.
Responsibilities
* Work in a fast-paced retail environment with variety
* Take ownership of running duty shifts, coordinating the team to deliver a clean, well-stocked store that exceeds customer expectations
* Assist customers and ensure they leave with what they came for
* Coach colleagues and provide feedback to the team to improve service
* Guide and support colleagues in-store to maintain a safe place to work and shop
* Understand store performance and assist managers in delivering actions to improve operations
* Lead from the front and set a positive example
Qualifications / Requirements
* You must be 18 or over to apply
* To be a great role model, deliver thoughtful customer service
* Ability to build strong, inclusive team relationships
* Clear communication and ability to keep the team well-informed
* Willingness to lead in the absence of the Manager
* Good decision-making and flexibility to handle change
* Motivational and curious to find ideas to serve customers and the community
