A look into the role

Henderson Food Service is the leading supplier to the food service industry in Ireland. We source and supply a range of thousands of products to customers including hotels, restaurants, and public sector organisations such as hospitals and offices.

The Purpose of the role:

To provide essential administrative support to the Credit Control department, ensuring the smooth operation of credit processes.



This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate records, facilitating effective communication between internal teams and customers, and contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the credit control function.



Working as Credit Control Administrator you will:

* Take ownership of all incoming payment processing including BACs, credit cards, cheques etc – ensuring that the related activities of each method are actioned as a priority.
* Cash processing - ensuring cash is counted, posted and lodged accurately and within time limits.
* Direct debit collection scheduling and bounced direct debit processing.
* Allocating payments to invoices including escalating processing and allocation issues to the relevant Credit Controller as appropriate.
* Support the Credit Control team and Manager with general administration activities.
* Run debtor statements on a monthly basis.
* To provide additional support to cover team members during absence.
* Support with other ad hoc activities as determined by the Credit Control Manager.



Skills for Success



Joining us as Credit Control Administrator the minimum criteria you’ll need is:

* Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), including Maths and English at Grade C or above.
* Experience in payment allocation, as well as BACS and Direct Debit processing.
* Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines and targets.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to work confidently across a variety of digital tools and systems.



The Attributes you’ll need include:

* Strong communicator with the ability to build effective working relationships.
* Well-organised with excellent time and diary management skills.
* Analytical mindset with confidence in interpreting data.
* Ability to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
* Strong written communication skills
* High attention to detail and accuracy.



It is Desirable if you have:

* A qualification in a computer-related field or demonstrable proficiency with relevant IT systems.
* At least 1 year of experience in a finance-related role, ideally within a credit control or accounts receivable function.
* Previous experience working in the foodservice or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry.
* Familiarity with the Accord IT system or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms.

This is a full-time position working 36.5 hours per week. Working hours will be 8:45am-4:45pm Monday to Thursday and 8:45am-3:45pm Friday. Hybrid and flexible working arrangement available.
