A mainstream primary school in Burnley is looking for a full‑time Teaching Assistant to join their specialist SEND Unit. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and a passion for helping pupils overcome barriers to learning. Key Responsibilities Support children with SEND on a 1:1 basis and in small groups Deliver targeted interventions as directed by the SENCO and class teacher Assist with differentiated learning activities and behaviour support Promote inclusion within both the SEND unit and the wider school Help maintain accurate pupil records, observations, and progress notes Work collaboratively with teachers, SEND staff, and external agencies Contribute to a safe, positive, and nurturing learning environment Essential Experience & Skills Experience supporting children with SEND (essential) Understanding of common SEND needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or Speech & Language Strong communication and teamwork skills Patience, resilience, and a supportive approach Ability to follow individual education plans and behaviour plans A commitment to safeguarding and child welfare What the School Offers A friendly, inclusive, and supportive staff team Ongoing training and development in SEND The chance to make a meaningful impact every day A dedicated SEND unit with strong leadership and resources How to Apply If you have the required SEND experience and want to support pupils in a highly rewarding role, please apply according.
