Overview
As Head of Generator Operations, you will be responsible for the full customer journey from design and installation through to commissioning and ongoing maintenance. You’ll oversee sales, engineering, and project management teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery.
Working closely with senior leadership, you’ll create the frameworks, processes, and culture required to grow the generator business into a nationally recognised operation.
Key Responsibilities And Activities Include
* Lead and grow the generator operations function, creating the strategy and framework to scale.
* Build and develop a strong team of engineers, sales staff, and project managers.
* Support Sales in bids/tenders by scoping solutions, ensuring deliverability, and protecting profitability.
* Manage project delivery with a focus on cost, quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
* Act as the escalation point for major generator projects and service issues.
* Implement standard processes, documentation, and reporting for projects.
* Work closely with Sales, Procurement, Warehouse, and Service teams to ensure smooth execution.
* Ensure compliance with regulations, standards, and contractual obligations.
* Report on customer trends, competitor activity, and opportunities for improvement.
Education And Experience Requirements
* Proven experience in B2B solution sales and generator operations (or related power/electrical systems).
* Strong leadership and team development skills.
* Commercial and financial acumen with the ability to balance cost, margin, and quality.
* Customer-first mindset with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
* Strategic thinker who can also execute hands-on.
