We are looking for a hardworking, reliable individual with an interest in haematology & oncology nursing to work within our dynamic ward.

We are a progressive, forward thinking Nursing Team, always striving to provide the highest level of care to our patients.

You will need to demonstrate an awareness of evidence based practice & a commitment to providing an excellent patient experience.

The successful candidate should be NMC registered & have recent experience of working within an acute care setting, excellent written & verbal communication skills & be IT literate. The shift pattern will be long days or long nights working any shifts over a 7 day period.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development and implementation and evaluation of programmes of care without supervision. They will be required to actively participate in the teaching and supervision of other nursing and non-nursing staff. The post holder will also be required to take a lead / link role for the nursing unit/department to be determined on appointment/appraisal.

Essential criteria

1. First Level Registered Nurse
2. Nursing degree/diploma

Experience

Essential criteria

3. Experience of working in an acute hospital setting
4. Substantial post registration experience
5. Completion of preceptorship/support skills
6. Intravenous drug administration skills

Desirable criteria

7. Computer Literate
8. Venepuncture/ cannulation skills

Knowledge & Training

Desirable criteria

9. Evidence of undertaking a recognised course of study in teaching and assessing, or commitment to complete
10. Evidence of professional development
