PURCHASE LEDGER/ACCOUNT ASSISTANT
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchase Ledger / Accounts Assistant to join a busy and collaborative finance team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership of processes while also supporting across wider finance functions.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Full ownership of the purchase ledger, ensuring accuracy and timely processing
* Planning and executing regular payment runs
* Managing supplier accounts and resolving queries efficiently
* Completing regular bank reconciliations
* Accessing and maintaining supplier portals
* Supporting the sales ledger function, including seasonal invoicing
* Assisting the wider finance team during peak periods
About the Candidate
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in purchase ledger and be confident working both independently and as part of a team.
You will have:
* Proven experience in a Purchase Ledger or Accounts Assistant role
* The ability to take ownership and manage your own workload effectively
* Experience in completing bank reconciliations
* Strong Excel skills
* Experience with Sage 50 (or similar accounting software)
* High attention to detail and strong organisational skills

Salary
Up to £30,000, depending on experience
