Alexander Steele are partnering with a successful FMCG business who are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join their team. This role is responsible for sourcing and procuring packaging and related materials, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with business needs. The position requires a strong commercial mindset, supplier management skills, and the ability to drive sustainable and innovative packaging solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver procurement strategies for packaging and materials.
* Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and monitor performance.
* Ensure best value through cost analysis, benchmarking, and supplier evaluation.
* Support production, NPD, and other departments by securing materials on time.
* Forecast material requirements and prevent shortages or delays.
* Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure compliance with regulations.
* Contribute to sustainability and innovation initiatives within packaging.
