We are currently working with a specialist school in the Wakefield area who require extra support with students who have been identified with Social, Emotional Behavioural or Mental Health issues (BESD, EBD, SEMH). We have a short-term, long-term and also permanent opportunities available.
Duties
* Working with small groups or on a one-to-one basis
* Support the class teacher in addressing the needs of the pupils
* Assist pupils who need particular help with behaviour management to overcome barriers to learning
* Help to develop and implement IEPs/EHCPs and behaviour management strategies
Ideal Candidate
* Have an understanding of needs including BESD, EBD, SEMH and other SpLD
* Be patient, resilient and empathetic to students' individual needs
* Experience of working with children and young adults as either a Youth Worker, a Sports Coach or within an education setting would be advantageous
* An up-to-date DBS that is on the DBS Update Service (or be willing to undertake a new one)
* Proof of Safeguarding at a minimum of Level 1 (or be willing to undergo online training)
